Dauphinee Inn is located on the shore of beautiful Hubbards Cove. We are centrally located, just thirty miles from Halifax, Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. Closer by, we have Oak Island, Chester (golfing, summer theatre), Tancook Island, and the beautiful Aspotogan Peninsula. We are only 45 minutes from the airport.
The Inn offers six antique furnished rooms. Our standard rooms offer
queen size bed, private bath, and share a large deck over the water.
Rooms with a water view are $125 per night, and rooms without a water view
are $99.
Our deluxe rooms are much larger, with wall-to-wall windows overlooking
the Cove, queen size bed, deluxe bath with double jacuzzi, warm fluffy
robes, and a private balcony over the water. The rate is $195 per night.
Our rates are quoted in Canadian dollars , plus tax, and include a continental breakfast, use of the Inns bicycles and canoe, and free access to beautiful
Hubbards Beach.
The Inn's seaside dining room was chosen 'Restaurant of the Year for
2000' by The Taste of Nova Scotia, and offers the freshest of local seafood,
specializing in lobsters and seafood chowder. We also have a great selection
of chicken, beef, pasta and Hot Rock dishes. (Hot Rocks are polished slabs of local granite, which are heated to 650*, and similar to fondue you cook your own meal at the table. It is very healthy since there is no fat or oils, and the smell is divine.)
Hubbards is a small rural village of 500 people surrounding Hubbards
Cove. It is a very popular recreational area, with 10 local beaches
www.10beaches.ca , and lots of boating. Other attractions in Hubbards
are 'The Original Nova Scotia Lobster Supper' and Nova Scotia's last great
Dance Hall - the Shore Club www.lobstersupper.com Golfing and summer
theatre www.chesterplayhouse.ns.ca are just 15 minutes away in
Chester. The Aspotogan Peninsula and Peggy's Cove offer some of the most
scenic coastline in Nova Scotia www.stmargaretsbayregion.com , and
Tancook Island http://www.tancook.ca offers a look at the simpler times in
N.S. Oak Island is a treasure island and believed to be the site of Captain
Kidd's treasure. Lunenburg and Mahone Bay offer rich beauty, trendy shops,
and the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic (a must). Halifax, our capital city offers
lots of history, pubs, restaurants, and an exciting waterfront.
